It is quite well known that Pampady
Thirumeni and Paret Mar Ivanios Thirumeni have loved
children dearly. The dayara chapel is named after Mar
Kuriakose Sahada who passed away at a fairly young age.
It was to fulfil their wishes that B.M.M English Medium
School was started in 1983 at the insistence of Bava
Thirumeni. The school bears his name: "Baselius Mar
Thomas Mathews English Medium School." It was a thanks
offering to Bava Thirumeni, because the public of
Pampady wanted to give something back to him for
presenting them with a first grade college. Already
several batches of 10th and 12th have been presented by
the school for CBSE examinations. It is gratifying that
100% result has been recorded all these years. Many of
the old students of the school follow professional
courses after completing they 12th.

Around 1500 students study there, spread out in 45
divisions from play school to Std. XII. 65 teachers and
15 ministerial staff work in absolute unity under the
commendable leadership of Jose Payikkad who has been
the Principal for the last few years, work here. The
boarding house also is patronised by many parents. There
are hostels for both boys and girls, supervised and
guided by committed teacher wardens. Intercession of
church fathers and sincere work by the management and
teachers have helped maintain the superb standard, which
the school is credited with. Future of the school looks
so rosy under Jose Payikkad's stewardship. An auditorium
in the name of Pampady Thirumeni is also completed. |
